General research directions
- Research in coordinated properties of actinoids and lanthanoids in crystals and melts of halogenides by optical spectroscopy methods
- Low-temperature (300-15 ë) ) spectroscopy of ions of 5f- and 4f-elements in perfect cubic symmetry matrixes: crystal growing from melts; identification of pure electron f - f transitions prohibited by energy extraction code in absorption and luminescence spectra; parametrization of J-level splitting sublevels in frames of first-order interaction method and relativistic version of crystalline field theory; plotting of 5f- and 4f-ion energy levels in Oh-symmetry field; comparative analysis of ligand field effects within actinoid and lanthanoid complexes in terms of N'ν. crystalline field force generalized parameter.
- High-temperature (up to 1100 K) actinoid and lanthanoid spectroscopy in halogenid melts used in nuclear fuel fabricating and reprocessing, control of valence transitions; elaboration of methodology for researches in f-element coordinated properties in melts on the basis of information on energy and intensity of f - f-transitions; the study of new discovered (2003) effect of cation-cation interaction of actinoids in melts.

The first experimental observation of actinoids' cation - cation interaction in melts (absorption spectra for NpO2+ + in molten chlorides at 700°ó within the range of 5500-6500 cm-1)

- Development of spectral (IR-spectroscopy) analysis methods for stable isotopes
- Researches in kinetics and mechanism of isotopic (oxygen, for example) exchange in solutions of actinoid salts, application of isotope exchanging as a method to study stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and mechanism of chemical reactions involving actinoid oxycations.
- Oxygen exchange under researches in processes of water and other substances oxidization with uranyl, and also in stoichiometry and uranyl hydrolysis mechanism.
- Elaboration of basement for the chemistry of metal-organic compositions of technetium and rhenium in the interests of engineering and nuclear medicine.
- Synthesis of volatile carbonyl-halogenides and other complexes of technetium and rhenium; studying of their thermal stability in gas phase.
- The chemistry of technetium and rhenium carbonyls in aqueous solutions. Development of original autoclave method to synthesize technetium and rhenium carbonyls in macro- and micro concentrations; studying of a structure of technetium and rhenium carbonyl complexes in solutions, the possibility to use aqueous solutions of technetium-99m carbonyl compositions as diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals.

Semiautomatic double-section mini autoclave (óï generator and reaction vessel) to synthesize aqueous solutions of technetium-99m carbonyles.

- Elaboration of methods to insert technetium (rhenium) mark in a form of í(óï)3+ fragments into biomolecules characterized with receptor affinity to viscera tissue; analyzing of an effect of coordinated ganglion structure, linker, and the structure of bioconjugate in whole to the mentioned affinity with the purpose to create diagnostic and medicinal radiopharmaceuticals for wide application area.
- The study of soil natural purification mechanisms and laws, and elaboration of this process regulating methods with the purpose to develop soil rehabilitation technologies.
- The study on simulated mini-ecosystems of radionuclide (Cs, Sr, transuranium elements) and toxic metal migration in soils and floodplain sedimentations, taking into account general biogeochemical factors (temperature, pH, Ehhumidity, hydrological conditions, a type of microbiological and vegetable community, a structure of mineral and organic components), governing radionuclide mobilization and remobilization.

A device allowing to simulating of radionuclide bioremobilization in soils under humidity heightened (stagnant-and-flushing conditions).

- Development of experimental methods to study microelement migration in soils and barrier characteristics of soil's components.
- Evaluation of contribution to migration of radionuclides and toxic metals from such globally spread processes as gley-forming and glazing.
- The study of "hot" and "warm" particles evolution in soils.
- Development of scientific grounds for predicting of natural purification of contaminated territories and secondary radioactive contamination of water systems.
