INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION OF THE DEPARTMENT FOR RADIOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATIONS IN AFTEREFFECTS OF NUCLEAR EXPLOSIONS, SEVERE RADIATION ACCIDENTS, AND RADIOACTIVE WASTE DISPOSAL

Participation in ISTC Projects:

No 520 Material Changes of Rocks in Underground Nuclear Explosions and Radioactive Contamination of Rock Massif.

No 570 Substantiation of Feasibility of Controlling the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty through On-site Inspection.

No 519 Radionuclide Pollution of the Environment and the Population Health.

No 245 "Radleg". Development of a Sophisticated Computer Based Data System for Evaluation of the Radiation Legacy of the Former USSR and Setting Priorities on Remediation and Prevention Policy (RADLEG)

No ë-414 "Decoda" (2000 - 2003) Design, Development and Demonstration of a Comprehensive and Systematic Database of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site (DECODA).

No 1326 (1999 - 2003) Evaluation of Geological and Geochemical Conditions for Deep Underground Disposal of the Actinide-Loaded Radioactive Wastes).

No 2133 (2005 - 2007) Development of Methodical Bases and Mobile Equipment for Monitoring of Xe and Kr Radionuclides in North-West Region of Russia).

In addition, the works are implemented within the frameworks of five contracts with Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in a period of 1996 -2000, and also - six contracts with Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (Vienna) in a period of 1999-2005.
