scientific structure of the institute division for radioecology and radio geochemistry department for radiochemical investigations in aftereffects of nuclear explosions, severe radiation accidents, and radioactive waste disposal scientific and technical services to be rendered

SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL SERVICES TO BE RENDERED BY THE DEPARTMENT FOR RADIOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATIONS IN AFTEREFFECTS OF NUCLEAR EXPLOSIONS, SEVERE RADIATION ACCIDENTS, AND RADIOACTIVE WASTE DISPOSAL

  • Measuring of volume (surface, specific) activity of ?-radiating radionuclides in aerosols, atmospheric precipitations, surface and ground waters, soil, bottom sediments, and plantations;
  • Measuring of volume (surface, specific) activity of 90Sr in aerosols (0.02-100 mBq/m3), atmospheric precipitations (0.2 -1000 Bq/m2), surface and ground waters (0.01- 500 Bq/L), soil, bottom sediments (1-5ž104 Bq/Kg), plantations (0.2-1000 Bq/Kg);
  • Measuring of volume (surface, specific) activity of 238, 239+240 Pu radionuclides in aerosols (0.02ž10-4- 0,1 Bq/m3), ), atmospheric precipitations (0.02-1000 Bq/m2), surface and ground waters (0.001- 50 Bq/L), soil, bottom sediments (1-5·104 âË/ËÇ), plantations (0.02 -1000 Bq/Kg);
  • Measuring of volume (specific) activity of tritium in surface and ground waters (20-1ž106 Bq/L), soil, bottom sediments (0.1-1ž103 Bq/Kg), plantations (0.1-1ž103 Bq/Kg);
  • Measuring of volume activity of Kr and Xe radionuclides in atmospheric air: measurement range for 85is 0.8 - 103 Bq/m3, for 131Xe, 133Xe - 0,6·10-3-20 Bq/m3;
  • Realization of γ-spectrometric territory survey with the help of γ-spectrometers mounted in high-flotation car;
  • γ-Radiation measurements in territories and industrial premises.

Laboratories of the Department are authorized with RF Certificate No 42069-02 issued by RF Gosstandart on 25.06.2002, as the Laboratories for radiation monitoring, physical and chemical analysis of environmental objects and radiation safety.
